Told from the viewpoint of a child, this film emphasizes that children should train themselves in good sleeping habits. In typical "Goofus and Gallant" style, it shows the advantages a well-rested kid has over his poor-sleeping classmate. Dreams are presented as a normal part of sleeping, and there is a funny dream sequence.

Zzzzz..
Film about sleep habits that tells you all about the right way and the wrong way to sleep. You see, your body keeps a clock about when it's time to go to bed, and when you'll do, you'll zap out like a rock! If you don't have regular sleep habits, you'll be tired, irritable and unable to play a good game of Newcomb (I know kids PE activities when I see them). Interesting film with some curious observations of sleep.

Sleep for Health
Remember, folks, there is a right and a wrong way to sleep. David, the Gallant of sleep, goes to bed early, follows a neat and tidy routine for going to bed, goes right to sleep, and wakes up before his alarm clock goes off. He has breakfast with his nice, respectable middle class family, has a good day at school, and everybody likes him. While, George, the Goofus of sleep, stays up late to listen to a radio program, has no habits, lies awake in bed for a long time before going to sleep, and has to be rousted out of bed in the morning by his mom. He has a bad morning, runs off to school without eating breakfast, falls asleep during class, and everybody hates him, including himself. DidnÂt know sleep was so important, did you? Two parts of this very didactic film are real hoots: David's dream sequence (I want his giant wrench for the Film Ephemera Museum of Quirky Devices) and the radio program George listens to (a gangster show with a character that is actually named "Mugsy").
Ratings: Camp/Humor Value: ****. Weirdness: ***. Historical Interest: ***. Overall Rating: ****. Also available on Campy Classroom Classics, Vol. 6.
